What is the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival?

The Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival is a vibrant celebration of historic Black communities in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our Festival is a series of events, all leading up to a big day-long celebration on Juneteenth. Each event has a purpose and is rooted in the support and empowerment of Scotland, giving back to our community, creating opportunity, and the celebration of Black freedom.

When and where is the Festival held?

What accessibility accommodations are available?

We are committed to ensuring that the Festival is accessible to all attendees. Our facilities are designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring:

  • Accessible seating and parking at all venues.

  • Ramps for ease of access.

  • Designated handicapped parking will be available at Winston Churchill High School during the June 19 events.

  • ADA-compliant transportation shuttles will operate between Winston Churchill High School and all Festival sites.

What is the policy on dogs at the Festival?

Dogs are not permitted at most indoor venues, except for service animals. At outdoor venues like Cabin John Village and Cabin John Park, dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times and have up-to-date vaccinations as required by law.
